The architect's brief is that the food court of an existing centre was to be upgraded, with the look and feel to be a natural garden setting. The floors should look like natural stone and terrazzo, complementing the existing architecture and feel of the mall.
The range that was selected was from the Italian factory, namely Iris / FMG, the Terrazzo series Venice Villa along with the Blast, which are both full-bodied technical porcelains. Both the terrazzo series is available in 3 finishes: natural, R11, and a polished version. The natural stone look of the Blast range was selected in 2 finishes: natural along with the non-slip R11 version. It was used in a 600x600 and a 600x1200 size. The Terrazzo series, Venice Villa, was selected in a non-slip finish of R11.
A sandblasted granite in 30mm was selected for the water feature, providing a seamless natural finish and is non-slip.
The beauty of this food court is that, depending on the weather, the roof can either be closed or open, which allows for the concept of the architect along with the clients and professional team to be realised.
